The Advance R-4 School District has a long history in our area. However, the exact date of when the school district really began is not real clear. We know there were several one room schools in what is now the school district's boundary. The one thing we do know for sure is the date the old high school building was built. The cornerstone has a date of 1924 on it. So that is the date we usually use as the starting point for our school district.
With that, we are coming up on our 100 year anniversary of our school district. Event planning has already begun. An exact date for any anniversary celebration has not yet been set. Any person who is interested in helping plan the event is welcome to contact the school office.
