The Advance R-4 School District has a long history in our area. However, the exact date of when the school district began is not clear. We know there were several one room schools in what is now the school district's boundary. The one thing we do know for sure is the date the old high school building was built. The cornerstone has a date of 1924 on it. We have established this year as our beginning.
