Bootheel Behavioral Health recently held a collaborative meeting with Stoddard County community partners (Upstream), and identified a pressing need for safe, positive spaces for our youth when school is not in session. To explore the viability of bringing a YMCA or a Boys & Girls Club to Stoddard County, a community needs assessment was developed to determine if one of these programs would be both beneficial and sustainable for local families. They have requested that local schools share the survey with district families.

Effective immediately, the Advance R-IV Board of Education is seeking to fill a vacancy on the Board, due to resignation of a member. The individual appointed to this vacancy will serve until the next school board election of April 2027. Qualifications to serve as a member of the Board of Education are: citizen of the United States, a resident taxpayer in the district who has resided in Missouri for a minimum of one (1) year, and is at least 24 years of age. Candidates are also required to submit a notarized Mo. Department of Revenue Form 5120.
District residents wishing to be appointed to the vacancy must make their desire known by submitting a written statement containing the applicant's name, address, phone number, list of qualifications for the board and their reason for wishing to be appointed to serve on the Board. Applicant statements may be delivered to the Central Office at 201 School St. during business hours. Packets may also be mailed to Advance R-IV School District, Attn: Board Secretary, 201 School St. Advance, MO 63730
Documents must be completed and statements of interest must be received during office hours by 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Families eligible by household income or direct certification to receive free or reduced‑price meals through the National School Lunch Program may qualify for Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (SEBT). This summer benefit provides $120 in grocery benefits per eligible student. If your student already receives free or reduced‑price meals this school year, their information will be submitted. Families not eligible during the 2025–2026 school year may use the Missouri SuN Bucks Eligibility Navigator to check eligibility.

Advance placed 3rd as a team and will get to compete in the State Championships in Springfield by having 4 individual qualifiers. The State Tournament will be on May 18 and 19.
