AHS Volleyball will travel to Zalma High School for district play this season. AHS is the #1 seed and will begin play on Monday October 23rd at 6:00pm. AHS will take on the winner of the Zalma/Oran game. Bracket is attached. #HornetPride!

HS Cross Country travels to Dexter on Saturday October 21st for their last regular season meet. First race will start at 11:50am. Come out and support the team! #HornetPride!

#LTT #LiteracyTipThursday Phonological awareness is recognizing the sounds of language. Nursey rhymes are an important way to help develop phonological awareness . How can you help? Make nursey rhymes a game by leaving out some of the rhyming words to see if your child can produce the rhyming word. Example: Hickory dickory DOCK, the mouse ran up the ______ (clock).

School will not be in session October 19th as Advance R-IV Schools will host Parent/Teacher Conferences. Doors will open at 2:00pm, and conferences will end at 7:00pm. School is also not is session on Friday October 20th. Please see the attached photos for additional information for each building. #HornetPride!

JH Boys Basketball travels to Bell City on October 17th. 7th grade will tip off at 6:00pm, with 8th grade to follow. Bell City CTA is hosting a spaghetti dinner in their cafeteria from 4:30pm to 6:00pm. Adults $7 per plate, Children $3 per plate, and under 3 eat free. Come support the teams! #HornetPride!

AHS Volleyball hosts Scott City on Monday October 16th. JV will begin at 6:00pm. We will honor our Senior players after the JV finishes. Varsity will start following Senior Night recognition. Come support the teams and help celebrate the Seniors! #HornetPride!

AHS will be offering a pep bus for tonight's SCAA Volleyball Championship night at Richland High School. Students in grades 7th to 12th may sign up in the high school office until 1pm today. Booster Club will be paying admission for all students that ride the pep bus. Let's pack the stands with orange and black! #HornetPride!

The Science of Reading refers to research that has been conducted over the past 20 years by reading experts and cognitive scientists! This research has shown us some of the best methods for teaching students to read. Reading teachers in grades K-5 have been participating in a 2-year training called LETRS that has taught us these methods to use with our students. #LiteracyTipThursday
