Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students, The Advance School District was made aware of some unsubstantiated social media posts that were being shared. Law enforcement was contacted, and they conducted an investigation. After review, it has been determined that these allegations are unfounded. There is no credible evidence of any threat to our school system at this time. The posts being shared online originated from a viral message that has been spreading across our area and the nation as best we can tell, using different school names. Please rest assured that the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we will continue to monitor closely to ensure a safe environment for all. All buildings will continue to adhere to established safety protocols, and there will be an enhanced presence of local law enforcement to ensure a secure environment. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the central office at 573-722-3581 or report it to the Courage2Report Hotline 866-748-7047. These incidents cause stress on our students and families, as well as our staff. They also disrupt the learning environment. We appreciate our administrators and local law enforcement partners who work quickly and thoroughly to investigate these threats. However, if it’s age-appropriate, we ask that you talk to your student about the seriousness of making a threat. Please help us emphasize to all students that making a threat against a public school whether it occurs on social media, in conversation, as writing on a bathroom wall, or in any other format has serious legal and disciplinary consequences. As a district, we will process all incidents in fulfillment of our district’s policies with support from our Police Department and our local juvenile office. Please also talk to your student about reporting any threatening post or communication to our school staff and police. We will continue to encourage an environment where students, staff, and families feel empowered to report anything that might be suspicious or out of the ordinary; prompt reporting is important in helping us to be proactive in maintaining a safe school environment. If you see a social media threat, please don’t forward or repost it. Instead, take a screenshot and share it with our school administrators and police. Sharing the post makes it harder to find out who started it and slows down the investigation. A few additional requests. Do not seek answers on social media. If you have a question, please contact us directly. Help us stop the spread of rumors. Our commitment to you is to do all we can to keep our students and staff safe. Sincerely, Shannon Garner Superintendent

As the new school year starts, we want to let everyone know that we have new bus drivers and sub drivers who are learning our routes. It may take them a little longer to run the route. Please be patient with them. Also the first few days we are learning who is riding and bus and how long the route is and whether we need to make adjustments to the routes. Hopefully by next week the routes will be finalized and timing will be better.
