Fall Sports practices for 9th to 12th grade athletes begin Monday August 11th.
Cross Country will practice at 7:00am at Westfield Park
Baseball will practice 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the baseball field.
Volleyball
Option to run the mile outside, be at Alyssa Miles house at 7:30 tomorrow morning. You can also run it in the gym @3:00 tomorrow. Practice will be from 3:00-6:00 everyday this week except Thursday (open house) in which it will be in the morning. Those who haven’t turned in their paperwork, bring it tomorrow or you can’t participate.

There is a new MO law (Senate Bill 68) that applies to all Missouri public school students.
Regarding personal electronic devices in public schools. Please see the attached picture for more details. Students with medical documentation on file with the school may use their device solely for the purpose of the management or treatment of their medical condition. Students with devices listed in their IEP or 504 plans will be allowed to use their device as directed in the document. Based on the language in this new law it is not applicable to school staff.

MSHSAA dead period for sports and activities for Advance is from August 2nd to August 10th. Fall high school sports practices will begin on August 11th. Coaches will be in contact regarding practice times. Athletes may need updated sports physicals. Contact your coach if you have questions regarding physical expiration dates.

The Old Gym is closed through August 10th due to floor refinishing. The gym will reopen the morning of August 11th.

Advance R-IV School District is seeking a Paraprofessional/Instructional Aide to work with students both inside the regular education classroom as well as the resource room for the 2025/2026 school year. Applicants should have a heart for working with students, have or be willing to acquire a MO DESE substitute teaching certificate, and be able to pass a background check.
Applications can be found on our district website (www.advancehornets.org) The completed application along with all required paperwork may be dropped off at any school office from 8:00am to 2:00pm Monday through Thursday. Junior High Girls Basketball will have their first open gym on Thursday 6/12 from 5:30-7:00pm. This will include girls entering grade 6th to 8th. It will be held in the FEMA gym. Coach Beal will have more information about summer workouts to handout. #HornetPride!
