AHS Baseball travels to Clearwater Jamboree on Tuesday 8/27. Games will be played at the field near the high school. 4:00pm vs. Clearwater 5:00pm vs. South Iron #HornetPride!

As the new school year starts, we want to let everyone know that we have new bus drivers and sub drivers who are learning our routes. It may take them a little longer to run the route. Please be patient with them. Also the first few days we are learning who is riding and bus and how long the route is and whether we need to make adjustments to the routes. Hopefully by next week the routes will be finalized and timing will be better.

Don't forget to swing by and check out the new bus garage tonight at open house. We will have the doors open and the lights on.

7th grade orientation will be held during open house on Thursday, August 15th at 6 pm. This will be held in Mrs. Eggimann's classroom. This will give parents and students an opportunity to hear about policies and procedures from the junior high teachers.

Advance R-IV Schools holds active shooter/intruder training each year for our staff, per Missouri statute. This Friday we will be holding our training. Stoddard County Sheriff's Office will be leading our training. In addition, we will be hosting multiple law enforcement, and emergency response organizations on our campus. They will be training to respond to such an incident. We appreciate our partnerships with these organizations and look forward to a safe and successful school year. MSHSAA fall high school sports practices will begin on August 12th. This will include Volleyball, Baseball, and Cross Country. Junior high school cross country and girls basketball practices will begin on August 19th. All students participating will need an up to date physical. Please contact your coach or the office if you have any questions, or need physical forms. #HornetPride!

MSHSAA requires schools to hold a summer dead period each year. Advance R-IV Schools' dead period is from August 3rd to August 11th. Please contact Athletic Director, Mr. James Hamlin at jhamlin@advancehornets.org if you have any questions. #HornetPride!

The Old Gym will be closed from tomorrow, July 23 - August 2, 2024 for floor refinishing. No entry is allowed during this period. The gym will NOT be opened for walkers during this time.

Advance Schools will be taking applications for preschool aide until Wednesday at 10:00 am. Applications can be picked up and dropped off at the preschool or central office.

Advance R-4 School District is currently seeking a Preschool teacher's aide/assistant for the 2024-2025 School Year. Contact Advance Schools for an application and job description or pick up an application in the preschool entryway or Superintendent's office. Hours for this position will be Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30. Tonight I got to give a long overdue recognition of appreciation to some of our former board members. Little back story. Southeast Superintendents Association used to have a spring banquet where retiring board members were recognized. Covid put an end to that banquet. Since then, we have had four board members leave the board. I have been wanting to honor them for the dedication and service to our school and community. So tonight Advance R-4 School District was pleased to honor Mr. Todd Ritter, Mr. Charlie Mayo, Mr. Jared Lacy with a nice dinner and a plaque showing our appreciation. Mrs. Ginger Hewitt was unable to attend tonight but will receive her plaque soon. Thank you all for your service and dedication to the students of Advance R-4 School District.
