Happy eclipse day! Students at Advance School are busy learning all about what is going to happen today and how to safely view this scientific event. Pictures below include: -Ms. Gilmore's class with their eclipse crowns - Ms. Barrett's class with their eclipse crowns - Ms. Welch demonstrating a model of the eclipse with 1st grade students - The sun was represented by the bus. The moon and Earth were all the way across the parking lot as a scale model of the distance between the 3. Two smaller balls modeled the size of the Earth and moon. When lined up perfectly, the sun disappeared. -Students made bracelets with UV beads to see what happens in the sunshine vs during the eclipse.
