Give your child a word and have them repeat it back to you. Then, take away the last sound and see if they can tell you the new word.
Say torch→ Now say torch without /ch/ what’s left is? → tore
Say paste → Now say paste without /t/ what’s left is? → pace
Say storm→ Now say storm without /m/ what’s left is? → store

#LTT #LiteracyTipThursday Here is a multi-sensory activity you can do with your young readers. When blending a word, have your child use a pop-it and push down one bubble for each sound they hear in the word. Then have your child blend the sounds together to "say it fast" like a word. For segmenting, students can do the opposite. Have your child repeat the whole word, then push down one bubble for each sound they hear.

Out of an abundance of caution, Advance Schools will be closed today, Monday January 22, 2024. We have the days built into our calendar so we don't have to make it up. I just can't chance having buses out on routes and kids driving to school and it start freezing rain again and getting slick. It just takes one.
Information regarding Stoddard County Basketball Tournament will be made later today.
Good Afternoon. Advance R-IV Schools will be in session on Friday 1/19. Buses will run where possible to do so safely. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
