Congratulations to the AHS Cross Country team on a stellar performance at the Class 1 District 1 race at Notre Dame today! Finn Mayberry earned a new PR of 29:14. Tucker Gilmore also earned a new PR of 24:30! Luke Ballin, senior, finished in SIXTH PLACE earning a new PR of 17:48 and defeating the previous school record held since 2012! JH Boys Basketball travels to Puxico tonight for a 6:00pm tip off for 7th grade. The 8th grade game will immediately follow. Come out and support the teams! #HornetPride!

AHS Volleyball travels to Bell City High School on Saturday October 28th for the Class 1 State Quarterfinal game against the Bell City Cubs. Game will begin at 3:00pm and admission is $8 per person as set by MSHSAA. Come pack the stands with orange and black! There will be a pep bus for grades 7-12. Admission will be paid for those students riding the Pep Bus by the Advance Booster Club. Students may sign up in the high school office today until 1:30pm. #HornetPride!

AHS Cross Country heads to Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau on Saturday October 28th for the Class 1 District 1 race. Boys will run at 11:40am, and the girls will run at 12:20pm. Come out and support our hard working runners! #HornetPride!

For example, say "Can you name some things that begin with the sound /m/?"

AHS Volleyball hosts sectionals tonight against St. Vincent High School. Game begins at 6:30pm. Gate will open at 5:30pm. Entrants must have a ticket purchased online at this link: https://www.mshsaa.org/Tickets.aspx Tickets will be scanned upon entry to the facility. #HornetPride!

AHS Volleyball hosts St. Vincent High School on Thursday 10/26 at 6:30pm for Sectional Volleyball. Admission is $8, per MSHSAA guidelines. Tickets must be purchased online at www.mshsaa.org Click the blue ticket on the front page, click volleyball, choose Class 1, look for Advance vs. St. Vincent, and then get tickets. Tickets will be scanned at the door as you enter the gym. #HornetPride!

Booster Club will take orders for District Champs shirts in the annex until 8:30pm. Orders will also be taken tomorrow until 12:00pm by calling the High School office. #HornetPride!

Game will begin at 6:00pm and admission is $6 per person as set by MSHSAA. Come pack the stands with orange and black! There will be a pep bus for grades 7-12. Admission will be paid for those students riding the Pep Bus by the Advance Booster Club. Students may sign up in the high school office until 1:30pm on Tuesday. #HornetPride!

AHS Volleyball will travel to Zalma High School for district play this season. AHS is the #1 seed and will begin play on Monday October 23rd at 6:00pm. AHS will take on the winner of the Zalma/Oran game. Bracket is attached. #HornetPride!

#LTT #LiteracyTipThursday Phonological awareness is recognizing the sounds of language. Nursey rhymes are an important way to help develop phonological awareness . How can you help? Make nursey rhymes a game by leaving out some of the rhyming words to see if your child can produce the rhyming word. Example: Hickory dickory DOCK, the mouse ran up the ______ (clock).

School will not be in session October 19th as Advance R-IV Schools will host Parent/Teacher Conferences. Doors will open at 2:00pm, and conferences will end at 7:00pm.
